Wow! This is AMAZING-so interesting getting to know a bit about people. Bon, thanks for creating such a wonderful environment where everyone feels comfortable to share...

Ummm, me:

1. I'm adopted.

2. Born in Alice Springs, lived there 8 yrs, then in SE SA for 3, then back to Alice, before going to Darwin for uni. Went to 7 primary schools

3. Have ridden horses virtually all my life... competed in dressage mainly and hacking... showjumping scares the living daylights out of me after having a few nasty falls. Was a Riding for the Disabled Coach for a bit before I left Darwin.

4. Am a qualified lawyer and was a commercial lawyer for a couple of years. Not really sure why I chose law... anyway, in the end lawyers I worked with I found largely to be A@#$*^&%s and so had my DS and never looked back! Prefer being a mum to a lawyer any day of the week. I have no aspirations of returning to a career as a lawyer.

5. Have been married for almost 7 yrs.

There you go... a little bit about me.

You probably don't know much about me at all being a newbie and all, but here goes, some little tid bits about moi...

* I was told I would never have children, we have 4 gorgeous earth angels, sadly we also have 8 baby angels watching over us... I was booked in for a hysterectomy when I was 17, asked for a second opinion and an so glad I did!!!

* I was going to be a doctor before I fell very ill in college... Now I dream of it - but know it will never be a reality, I think I'd rather be a mum any day though :)

* I've only ever had one boyfriend in my life - and I married him!!! We've had a rocky time in the past but things are back on track and we're heading towards 13 years of marriage this September.

* I'm a long term survivor of depression, every now and then I struggle with it, but we're beating it atm :) I've learned that depression is sometimes something that stays with your for life, you learn how to deal with it and learn coping mechanisms to get you through the day... I don't think I'll ever be free of it (I live in hope) but there is a strong family history of it so would rather think of it as a lifetime thing that getting my hopes up IYKWIM.

* I spent my middle teenage years in a childrens home - my parents ran it. It was an experience. I'd never ever do something like that with my children as it was very tough to have so many strangers in your home, but it has helped mould me into the person I am today. My parents were foster and temporary carers to start with (from as young as I can remember we've had foster and temcare kids) then went into the childrens home. We had over 250 children in our home in the 3 years we were there... Lots of tough time, but then also fun times as well... It was also a halfway house for children leaving the detention centres before being rehabilitated - I think that is where most of the tough times came from...

there you go, a little about me...
